I hit a rock broke a boat motor, and decided to build better boats. I have two patents issued two pending, one copywrite, and two world records.
Know what: I am still having trouble getting the capital to make this project successful.
Biggest mistake: I started this project planning to develop new technology and bring it to market. It took me three quarters of a million dollars and seveal years to develop the technology.
People and investors don't seem to understand that. They all seem to think I should have used that money to make a profit. I guess, cash flow should have been king. If we had just copied someone elses product and went into business we might have had some positive cash flow by now.
The flip side, is that I would never have left my good job to copy somebody elses product. I don't think any of my original investors would have given me any cash to do that either. So it is the old catch 22.
I spent a lot of time looking for venture capital, none seemed to believe me. I have only been able to get small investors at all.
My solution is to give test rides on my new product. The product sells itself. It will be a lot slower that way, but eventually we should be able to grow the business. We may end up making a movie about the next world record we are talking about going after. That movie might end up on cable TV as a reality show. Most Dangerous Voyage.
